Benefits of homeschooling

Lets take a look at some of the points as to why we would like to have John and Vickie learn from home rather than at a public school. Lets start off with some of the low hanging fruit or lower benefits but still very nice benefits, for instance you do not have to pack a lunch anymore for your child, you do not have to go into your childs room at six thirty in the morning and try to get them motivated to get dressed and get ready for school, you do not have to read off all the normal things you tell your child before you send them off to school.

Moving on to some of the more important benefits of homeschooling your children. Homeschooling actually will give you much more control over the things that can happen at public schools that could directly affect your children. Gaining command of your childs development is one of the best benefits of homeschooling that i can see. With this the parents are the only people that will be making decisions on what you believe your child needs to be taught or what you want your child to do, this becomes something where you have much more visibility. Being able to decide the homeschool curriculum that best fits your childrens learning needs and/or the interests of the child is probably one of the best benefits of homeschooling.

Today there is approx 20 children to 1 teacher in the class, this is a very high ratio when you compare to homeschooling. One on one attention is one other benefit of homeschooling that your child will recieve when homeschooling. Lets just say that one of your children needs more work in english, well now you can adjust the time spent on english to whatever you like as there are no set hours for learning a subject like there is in public schools. What this means is your child will be able to put more hours into a subject that they need more help with without being pressured. Of course the time requirement to learn any subject will totally depend on the individual child.

The teaching of your children becomes like a family issue and everyone in the family can become involved with a lot of the steps of teaching and learning, and this is a beautiful thing. Also some of the most fun part of homeschooling would be the experiments and the great field trips that you will share with your child, which also means that you will be spending a lot more quality time with your children, which also means that the family will become much closer.

Another one my biggest benefits of homeschooling is your children do not have to deal with any negative peer pressure that you find in most all our public schools today, and your child does not have to compete to prove the abilities that he/she has as the competition is very low when homeschooling and your childs confidence will remain high. Also because you understand your children more than anyone else you can plan the learning sessions to help keep your child interested and moving forward, one thing that i always like to do is mix the childs difficult schooling activities with something that your child enjoys. for instance you might have an hour of math with your child and then right afterwards you might go on a fieldtrip to a zoo or museum, so now the childs learning becomes much more fun.

When it comes to teaching all ages of children one of the very first thing a teacher needs to do is try to figure out the childs most comfortable learning style, as it differs from one child to the next, lets say Jane learns best by writing, and David learns best when he reads, and then still there is Tony who wants to see it action so he is a visual type learning style, everone has a style in which you learn faster. One of the geat benefits of homeschooling that we are hearing from a lot of home school moms and dads is you now have total control of what your child is being taught when it comes to things like morals and religous beliefs, there will no longer be that confusion that most children fight with when they see the things that they are being taught at home as far as things like i mentioned earlier, but by homeschooling you child now see’s both what is beaing taught and also what is being practiced in the childs enviroment.

in todays world the parents of school age children are becoming very dis-heartened with the public schools system. Some think that there children are not learning enough, or some that the child might be getting pushed way to hard. Other public school issues that are concerning parents today are the discipline and ehtics that are being taught in system. I believe that homeschooling in the enviroment that we all live in today is the very best way to educate your child and prepare them for life, but this task that you are taking on requires comittment by both you and your child, but most importantl you must understand the actual time that you are going to have to put into your childs eduction homeschooling them, because it takes a lot of time, if you do not have the time that it requires to benefit your childs homescooling education, you should not attempt to as this only fails.
